Old Mutual Malawi Limited has donated K20 million to the Malawi Library Association (MALA) towards its third National Research Dissemination Conference scheduled for October 28-29 in Salima District.
Phillip Waluza, Acting Head of Sales and Distribution for Old Mutual said the sponsorship reflects its commitment to supporting education, professional development and national progress.
"As the world evolves through technology and digital transformation, the digital divide widens and potentially excludes some people from high-value information," he said.
Teddie Chima, Vice President of the association, said the financial support will help them host a successful conference under the theme 'Transforming Information Access and Knowledge Systems in the Digital Era'.
The conference is expected to bring together scholars, policymakers and students to discuss emerging trends in information science, librarianship and knowledge management.
